Those who wish to be saved from the throes of Mashiach should engage in Torah and kindness".
In the early days of the community, our Rav Batzri, shlit"a impressed this idea of the "three pillars" – in addition to Torah and tefillah there must be also the third pillar of kindness.
As a result of the Rav's words, many gemachim sprouted up like mushrooms after the rain. Many of the gemachim are supervised by the Rav himself and most of the activity is done a clandestine manner preserving the privacy of the recipient
Many of the acts of kindness take place within the walls of the Beit Knesset. The pressing economic situation has knocked on many of the resident's doors thus disturbing the Rav's tranquility because of his concern for all inhabitants of Be'er Sheva. Therefore, within the framework of activities there are organizations that provide for helping poor brides, weekly food distribution for needy families, clothing and shoes for the holidays, money for Passover supplies and much more.
The myriads of thank you letters attest to the fact that without the Rav Batzri's help, many children would be lacking minimal clothing and footwear and basic food products would not be on their Shabbat and holiday table. All this is done without fuss or fanfare, thus upholding the family's respect.
