Every evening many Jews returning from a hard day of work gather in the main synagogue to hear a shiur Daf HaYomi on the Talmud Bavli. The shiur is delivered by HaRav Batzri, and lasts for over two hours. This shiur is one of the largest in the country, with a huge variety of people attending - sitting side-by-side are avreichim, working men, baalei teshuvah – all gather here to drink thirstily the holy words of Torah.
The shiur is a masterpiece incorporating the words of the Gemora, practical halachah, guidance for everyday life for the Jewish home and beyond, education of our children and tales from the lives of gedolei Yisrael – all given over in an engaging style full of warmth and simchah.
