From time to time special prayer events are arranged, which illustrate the participation together of hundreds from all strata of Beer Sheva society. These tefillos take place in the synagogue during the Shovavim period, also on erev Rosh Chodesh and on any occasion that demands increased pleading for Heavenly Mercy – lo aleinu, occasions of bombings and attacks against Jews throughout the country and overseas. Also during the inspirational month of Ellul and the Ten Days of Repentance there is an increased arousal to devotion – accompanied with tears or joy that break all barriers, which bring all those in attendance to heights of emotion and increased dedication to kedushah.

This is even more evident during the days of Selichos. Every evening, thousands gather to recite the Selichos, with HaRav Batzri as shaliach tzibbur, whose tremulous voice brings those in attendance to floods of tears. Afterwards, the joy of those present is impossible to describe – happy the one who merits to witness this.

The variety of those who come to the Selichos is astounding. Many of them are young girls and bochurim, upon whom the events leave a remarkable impression that is sure to accompany them for the rest of the year.
